Ray Bradford - Player

Ray Bradford (Player) - He pitched for the Willard Wildcats in the Central Shore League in the 1950's. In 1948 at the age of 18, Ray signed a pro contract with Bluefield, West Virginia. He also played with Federalsburg Feds of the Eastern Shore Baseball League in 1949. That year he pitched 191 innings winning 13 games and losing 9 games.
In 1953 - 1954, Ray entered Military Service during the Korean War and played baseball for his service team in Japan. When he returned home in 1955, he played for his service baseball team in Texas and one year with the Hagerstown Maryland Nine.
Ray ended his baseball career playing for the Salisbury AA team in 1957, but continued to play softball for many years. His pitching skills in softball were equally effective.
Ray worked with the Pony League Baseball Organization from 1958 to 1985, keeping his love for the game of baseball alive.
