Dave Crockett - Player Inducted in 1990 George "Dave" Crockett (Player) - During his 8 year career, Dave played for the Shad Point baseball team, the Hebron baseball team, the Quantico baseball team, and the Salisbury baseball team from 1947 to 1954. He played on the All-Star team in 1948 and had a .300 batting average for the season. In 1944, Dave entered the Navy and served in the South Pacific. He played with the ship's All-Star team and had a batting average of .340. After retiring from baseball, Dave coached and umpired in Little League and Pony League for many years. He never lost the desire and love for the game! |
