James Edward Taylor (Player) - His baseball career had a span of 26 years, playing for numerous teams around the Delaware area. He played every position on the baseball field and did exceptionally well ate each one. He was most known for his enthusiasm he carried on and off the field as well as his presence at home plate. In 1931, he led the Harrington High School Baseball team to a State Championship and had an impressive .437 bating average.
James also was a member of the Eastern Shore Baseball League, he was given the nickname Homerun Taylor. His skill of baseball was so great , he could tell where the ball was going the second the ball hit the bat. He also had the privilege of playing with the Great Jimmie Foxx and his brother Sammy.
