![]() Sam Doane - Player Inducted in 1984 Samuel "Sam" Henry Doane (Player) - He started playing with the Oakville Eagles at the age of 16. Sam's career as a player with the Oakville Eagles o the Inter-State League lasted 33 years. As a baseball player, He became one of the most feared hitters in any baseball league even at the age of 50. After playing for the Oakville Eagles, Sam managed the team for many years. Sam served a a MCEA Baseball umpire for many years. He was also one of the original members of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame. At the age of 79, he became Vice Chairman of the Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame. |
