John Gordy, Sr. - Manager Inducted in 1984 John "Jack" Woodrow Gordy Sr. (Manager) - He was a hard working farmer who found time in his very demanding schedule to coach and manage the Snow Hill Hornets baseball team of the Bi-County Leagueduring the 1950's. Even though he had no formal training in baseball, Jack knew the fundamentals. Most of all he knew how to work with young men, Jack helped them use their many talents and skills to the best of their ability on the baseball field. The team reflected Jack's leadership abilities and devotion by winning two Bi-Bounty League Championships. Through his leadership, he was able to guide young men to feel good about themselves as individuals and as a team to have a winning spirit which made him very proud. |
