Edwin L. Lashley - Player

Born in Salisbury, MD in 1957, Ed was a local baseball star from an early age. He was the Pony League batting champion in both 1970 and 1971. From there, Ed continued his success as the batting champion in Colt League in 1973 and 1974 while achieving the Player's Player award. In high school, he played for Wicomico Senior High and was the Bayside Conference batting champion in 1973 and 1975. In high school, Ed had a career batting average of .511, with 65 hits, 6 home runs, 12 doubles, and 2 triples. Upon graduation, Ed was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles and played the 1975 season at Bluefield in the Appalachian League. Ed was considered one of the best players of his era on the Eastern Shore. After his playing days, Ed has enjoyed a highly successful career in law enforcement.
