Joseph Morgan - Booster

Inducted in 1986

Poppa Joe was truly a unique person, a true lover of the game of baseball. He was loved by all, his players, his business patrons, and just about everyone that knew him. He attended school in Huntington, but like many was forced to leave there to find work. He ended up working in the Oxford Boat Yard in that town during the war.
During his glory days in the Central Shore League, Poppa Joe managed the Sharptown Eagles. He was a fiery manager who hated to lose, and the Eagles were his team. He kept them together; instilled in them the will to win, and his players loved him for it. Joseph henry Morgan was inducted into the Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986 as a respected and admired manager who influenced many in a positive way.
